Will the real Britney Spears
please pony up?

BRITNEY? NOT!: Someone claiming to be Britney Spears ("But don't tell anybody I'm here!") was skulking around the Ocean Club Saturday night after Russell Tanoue opened his "Welcome to Hollywood" birthday party fund-raiser to the public at 10 p.m. The short blonde woman was apparently just an attention-seeker. A celebrity of Spears' stature would surely have insisted on making a generous contribution to support the event's beneficiaries -- the American Cancer Society, Project Shine and heart disease survivor Brad Basuel ...

CONGRATULATIONS: To Jack Law and Eaton "Bob" Magoon. They're celebrating the 30th anniversary of Hula's Bar & Lei Stand with "30 and Wild!" -- a benefit for the Life Foundation -- on Saturday. Who suspected when Hula's opened as an open-air disco under the big banyan at the corner of Kuhio and Kalaimoku that it would survive to become a Waikiki landmark? ...

INTERESTING PEOPLE: Gerard Elmore says he finds life tough at the advanced age of 24. "I don't know my barriers anymore," he confessed, explaining that he had can't bust a move on the dance floor like he used to. Despite feeling past his prime, Elmore is working on another potential sitcom pilot. This one is based on a bit in his stand-up comedy material and sounds like a winner ... Hutch Hutchins (also known as Hutchi-Boy-E) is working on a new blend of Hawaiian music and funk. Says it's time to get ready for eight-string ki ho'alu bass ... Add Laka Carpenter to the list of local music industry people who are fed-up with remakes of old pop or reggae hits. A project he's working on is 100 percent original. He's hoping local radio will give it a chance ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: To Yunni Lin and multi-talented martial arts actor/stuntman and film producer Robin Shou, who are celebrating Saturday... Also to Melveen Leed, who celebrates Sunday ...

GETTING RISQUƒ: "RisquŽ" got off to a promising start at the Hanohano Room on Sunday and even had a unplanned fillip when one of the go-go dancers revealed more than she presumably intended to while on stage. Fashion designer Zana Tsutakawa said afterward she felt like she had "impregnated (the dancer) with my eyes." ...
