The Western Athletic Conference officially announced its TV schedule yesterday, and all four of Hawaii's road games are slated for either regional or national broadcast.

UH's games at Boise State (Oct. 29) and Fresno State (Nov. 12) will be shown on ESPN2 and ESPN, respectively. The Warriors games at Rice (Sept. 18) and Texas-El Paso (Oct. 16) have been picked up for regional telecast by SportsWest and ESPN Regional Television.

KFVE-TV (Channel 5) will broadcast all eight home games in Hawaii, and KFVE has an arrangement to make them available in California via Fox Sports West.

KFVE also continues to own the rights to the Rice and UTEP games, but the games will be broadcast by mainland crews.

"We'll be selling them and showing them," KFVE president John Fink said. "But Jim and Doug (Leahey and Vaioleti, the play-by-play and color team) won't be doing it."

Leahey enters his 20th season of doing UH football on TV.

"Of course it's disappointing," he said. "But we can't worry about what we can't control. That's just the way it is and probably the way it will be as long as Hawaii is successful and attracts the networks. We'll do the best we can with the games we have."
