No VA chiropractors in Hawaii
Question: Can VA patients receive chiropractic care?
Answer: Veterans can receive chiropractic care at 26 VA facilities beginning this fall, but Hawaii isn't one of them. The closest VA locations are in Seattle, Sacramento, Calif., and Los Angeles. Veterans in Hawaii will be able to receive chiropractic care through VA's outpatient fee-basis program after a referral by their primary care provider, and prior authorization by the department. For further information on chiropractic care, contact the VA at 433-0600.
Q: I would like to access my Veterans' Group Life Insurance account online. Is that possible?
A: The insurance Web site is www.insurance.va.gov. Veterans will be able to view their current amount of coverage, premium rate, and billing method, as well as change their billing address. In the future, veterans will have access to additional online tools allowing them to change their method and frequency of payment.
Also available on the Web site is a new life insurance calculator that allows veterans to calculate a recommended amount of life insurance based on their financial situation.
Veterans can also access their account information by telephone through a new VGLI interactive voice response system. Veterans can call VA at (800) 419-1473 any time by using their telephone keypad and can hear recorded information on their accounts. They can also request certain changes to their VGLI accounts, such as billing frequency and payment method, as well as order forms via mail or fax. For more information on VGLI, contact the VA at 433-1000.
