Man allegedly assaults, kidnaps ex-girlfriend
Police were searching for a 40-year-old Pearl City man wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting and kidnapping his ex-girlfriend early Monday morning.
Police said the 44-year-old woman was getting off work and went to her ex-boyfriend's home to pick up some items that belonged to her.
When the woman arrived, she found the man drunk and she tried to leave, police said.
But the suspect allegedly kept her there and sexually assaulted her between 2:10 and 4:30 a.m.
Police said the suspect later released the woman, and she reported the incident that morning.
The man is wanted for first-degree sexual assault and kidnapping.

Charges are filed in alleged sex assault
Police charged a 42-year-old Kahuku man Sunday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a female at their home.
James Yoshikawa III turned himself in to police Saturday and was charged with five counts of first-degree sexual assault, seven counts of third-degree sexual assault and abuse of a household member.
He was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Man is injured trying to stop nightclub fight
Police arrested a 20-year-old man Sunday after he allegedly punched another man in the face and threatened him with a gun.
Police said a 21-year-old man entered a nightclub on Halekauwila Street to stop a fight at 12:55 a.m. when the suspect punched him in the face.
The suspect then pulled a handgun from his waist and threatened the victim.
Police said the suspect fled before police arrived, but was later found on Ward Avenue.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening, third-degree assault and two counts of contempt of court. He was released pending further investigation.

Accidental shooting prompts investigation
Big Island police have opened a criminal investigation against a Hamakua man whose son accidentally shot and wounded another boy in the head.
Shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, Hamakua patrol officers responded to a report of an accidental shooting that occurred in Haina Camp.
Police later determined that a 13-year-old male was playing with his father's .22-caliber revolver when he accidentally shot a 14-year-old male companion in the head.
The wounded boy was taken to the North Hawaii Community Hospital and then transferred to the Kona Community Hospital, where he underwent surgery. He was later released in good condition.
East Hawaii Juvenile Aid Section detectives then initiated the investigation against the 13-year-old's father for negligent storage of a firearm.
