>> Aston Hotels & Resorts Hawaii has promoted Earl Nakachi to Honolulu Prince Hotel general manager. He has worked for the company for five and a half years. He will succeed Charlotte Caster.

>> Prudential Locations LLC has named Michelle Kondo executive vice president of client relationship development, a newly formed division.

>> The Waikiki Aquarium has promoted Mark Heckman to director of education. He most recently served as the community enrichment program coordinator for the aquarium.

ON THE BOARD

>> Sheet Metal Contractors Association installed Neal Arita as president for the 2004-06 biennial term, succeeding Wai Lik Chan. Arita is an employee of Heide & Cook LTD.

>> The Institute For Human Services Inc. has elected seven new board members: Ann Botticelli, Michael S. Chu, Melanie Holt, the Rev. Lauren Buck Medeiros, Theresia McMurdo, Frank B. Smith, Mary A. Weisman and Patrick K.S.L. Yim.

RECOGNITION

>> Joseph P. Nicolai, president of JN Automotive Group, is one of 63 dealers nationwide to receive the 2004 TIME Magazine Quality Dealer Award. Four of the recipients were named finalists and one was named Dealer of the Year. The awards program recognizes new-car dealers for exceptional performance and distinguished community service.
