PROMOTIONS

» Bank of Hawaii has promoted Ralph Mesick to commercial real estate loan division manager and executive vice president. He will be responsible for coordinating sales and service and overseeing lending activities. He previously served as senior vice president.

» Dixie Grill has promoted Brian Smith to general manager. He previously served as beverage manager and assistant general manager for Stinson Beach Grill in California. He joined Dixie Grill in 2003.

RECOGNITION

» The American Society for Nutritional Sciences has awarded Jean Hankin a fellowship. She is a professor and researcher emerita of the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii.

» Nine First Hawaiian Bank staffers have been named to the Chairman's Council as the bank's top performers for 2003: Dennis Hu, Oahu region II senior vice president and manager; Bob Harrison, senior vice president and Kapiolani Banking Center manager; Alvin Goo, assistant vice president and Hawaii Kai branch manager; Bryan Sakai, vice president and Wahiawa area manager; Donnie Yannell, senior vice president and Waikiki area branch manager; Guy Shindo, asset lending vice president; Joyce Sakai, vice president and Kapiolani Banking Center commercial real estate loan officer; Carl Tadaki, vice president and team leader; and Ward Brown, Private Banking Center senior vice president.
