Hawaiian Humane Society

Einstein, an English bulldog, took a break from the excitement of the Petwalk 2004 fund-raiser for the Hawaiian Humane Society. When Einstein is alert, he provides therapeutic support for the sick as part of the Pet Visitation Program at the Queen's Medical Center, as well as the Red Cross Human Animal Bond Program at Tripler Army Medical Center.

Chauncey, a 10 month old tabby, looked a little dazed by the experience. "This is his first time out and is terrified," explained his owner, Linda Tamanaha. Hundreds of pet owners and their pets, predominately dogs, walked the two-mile course around Ala Moana Beach Park and Magic Island yesterday.

Hunny, a dachshund, waited with her owner, Sherrie Sonomura, for the costume contest to commence. "Looks delicious," commented a passerby.

Bill and Yoko Young from Philadelphia took a seat and watched participants walk by. "We were out for a walk and got displaced," said Bill Young with a laugh.
