Runners in the Swamp Run got hosed down during a muddy stretch of the 4.2-mile team race hosted by the Marine Corps Base in Kaneohe yesterday. The grueling race included an obstacle course of climbing, swimming, crawling and ambush and was held to raise funds for the Combat Service Support Group's Marine Corps Birthday Party Ball.

Empress Ginger Andresen kissed the hand of an adoring fan yesterday during her performance of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" at the Gay Pride 2004 celebration held at the McCoy Pavilion. Hundreds of participants gathered to promote equality and pride for gays and lesbians in an event that featured live performances, educational booths, food, drinks, dance and a parade.
