3rd ‘Idol’ show tickets
go on sale Saturday

TICKETS go on sale Saturday morning at 9 a.m. for an unprecedented third "American Idols Live!" concert at the Blaisdell Arena.

It's amazing that Hawaii residents are willing to shell out $48 per ticket to see the 10 "American Idol" finalists, including Hawaii's own Jasmine Trias and Camile Velasco, but it's even more incredible that promoter Tom Moffatt believes the demand is there for a third show. I guess selling out two nights in five hours will give you that kind of confidence.

But you know what I don't get? It looks like Honolulu is the only stop on the 48-city tour to get multiple shows, but we're not even mentioned on the "American Idol" Web site. No respect ...

AFTER A four-month hiatus, Matty Liu and The Main Ingredient are back at Breakers in Haleiwa starting tonight for a summer session of "The Breaks."

Doors open at 9 p.m. for this 21-and-over party, and once again DJs Fortyfive and Mr. I.N.C. will be on the decks spinning a mix of hip-hop, R&B and soul. Surf over to www.mattyliu.com for more info ...

DID YOU miss the Memorial Day edition of the "Star Bar" at Longhi's last Sunday?

Well, you don't have to wait for Matty Boy Hazelgrove and the gang to throw another party -- there's a new weekly kicking off tomorrow night at the restaurant.

Complete Industries and Green Bottle Productions have teamed up to present "Flight One Fridays," starting at 10 p.m. This is a 21-and-over party you'll definitely want to check out, especially since my favorite vinyl vixen, DJ Anit, will be spinning alongside DJ Mixmaster B (who's a pretty talented mixer in his own right). Call 947-9899 ...

AND FOLLOWING a short break while they got some scheduling issues squared away, the promotional trio of Flash Hansen, Komo Low and the aforementioned Matty Boy Hazelgrove return to the Hanohano Room on Saturday for another edition of "Skyline."

Starting this month, the party takes place every first and third Saturday, with a cover charge of $10. Featured DJs this time around are DJ G-Dog, Drift, Floating Floor and Sean G. Check out www.groovetickets. com for info on express entry passes ...

MONDAY NIGHTS are starting to pick up steam again, now that summer is officially under way.

Starting this Monday, Anywear Clothing presents "Zealous: Full of Passion" at Zanzabar Nightclub for the 18-and-over crowd. Doors open at 10 p.m., and DJs Re:Turn, Ikon and Mezzo will be in the mix spinning hip-hop, R&B, house and breaks. Call 478-9334.

And over at Venus Nightclub, Double Fist Productions throws down with dollar drinks at "Sucker Free Mondays." Doors open at 10 p.m. for this one as well, and DJ Goodvybe is listed as the featured mixer ...
