» Last Sunday it was reported in this column that Pat Scalabrini (Seminole State, Hawaii) did not have a triple in his four-year pro career. That night he collected his first three-bagger in a Northern League game for the Winnipeg Goldeyes in a 13-11 loss to the Sioux City Explorers. The triple came in his 861st pro at-bat.
» Outfielder Darren Blakely (Hawaii), who started slowly with the Birmingham (Ala.) Barons in the Class AA Southern League with a .214 batting average, has been transferred by the Chicago White Sox to the Winston-Salem Warthogs of the Class A Carolina League.
» Chad Bailey (Campbell, North Idaho, Seminole State), who spent several weeks in instructional league overcoming a sore left shoulder, has been transferred by the Los Angeles Dodgers from the Columbus (Ga.) Catfish of the low Class A South Atlantic League to the Vero Beach Dodgers of the high Class A Florida State League.
» Outfielder Kaliko Oligo (Waimea, Hawaii-Hilo) and infielder Bryce Uegawachi (Kaiser, Hawaii Pacific) signed with the Springfield/Ozark (Mo.) Ducks of the independent Frontier League on May 20.
» Keith Luuloa (Molokai, Modesto JC), an infielder, has signed with the Bridgeport (Conn.) Bluefish of the independent Atlantic League.
» Hubert Pruett (Kamehameha) will not pitch this year. The right-hander in the Milwaukee farm system will have surgery to repair ligament damage in his right shoulder.
