Hanohano Awards
HULA ON!: Manu Boyd danced to the music of Nina Keali'iwahamana, Mahi Beamer, Kenneth Makuakane and Hoku Zuttermeister at the "after party" for the 2004 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Monday. Gaye Beamer, Puakea Nogelmeier and Keali'i Reichel also danced. Melveen Leed sang a memorable "Little Grass Shack."

ALOHA, LAS VEGAS: Mountain Apple Company CEO Jon de Mello called his father, local record industry legend Jack de Mello, in Las Vegas moments after "Nina," an album Jack produced, won "Anthology of the Year."

TWO MASTER PIANISTS: Mahi Beamer, right, stopped by Martin Denny's table before the televised part of the awards ceremony started. Both talented pianists are HARA Lifetime Achievement Award recipients. Denny was honored in 1990, Beamer in 1991.

"UNCLE BOBBY" SCORES!: "Uncle Bobby" Moderow Jr. had a great night as his group, Maunalua, won Group of the Year and as well as Favorite Entertainer, the only Hoku category in which the winner is determined by public vote. Multi-talented actress Dorothy Stamp helped "Uncle Bobby" display his trophies.
