Tony Autoplex expanding
The Tony Group Autoplex in Waipio is growing to 10 acres to accommodate a Hyundai dealership and a car wash.
A ground-breaking ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday will pave the way for Tony Hyundai and the car wash to be built behind the Honda, Nissan and Volkswagen dealerships at Ka Uka Boulevard and Moaniani Street.
"Hyundai's initial quality ratings have surged past Toyota and the company will launch a new vehicle every six months for the next three years," said Stan Masamitsu, Tony Group president.
The car wash will serve the dealerships and the public. "Lots of people purchase their gas across the street at Costco nowadays, and we expect many of them will enjoy getting their cars washed at the same time," Masamitsu said.

Judge approves Hawaiian bankruptcy schedule extension
Hawaiian Airlines' request to extend the reorganization plan filing deadlines by six weeks was approved yesterday in federal Bankruptcy Court while a hearing on three other motions was postponed until next month.
Bankruptcy Judge Robert Faris approved a motion to extend four key dates in the Chapter 11 process. Reorganization plans are now due July 29 with modifications to those plans due Aug. 9. In addition, a disclosure statement hearing is set for Aug. 31 to determine if all the plans contain the proper information to allow creditors to make an informed decision. The confirmation hearing is scheduled for Oct. 5, or later, depending upon the outcome of the disclosure hearing.
The hearing was postponed to June 3 at 10 a.m. on the following:
» A motion of impasse by aircraft lessor Boeing Capital Corp. and co-plan proponent Corporate Recovery Group LLC that Hawaiian Airlines trustee Joshua Gotbaum is not producing documents quickly enough;
» A motion by Corporate Recovery Group that it be allowed to share with Boeing Capital certain aspects of Hawaiian's aircraft leases with International Lease Finance Corp. and Ansett Worldwide;
» A motion by Boeing Capital to limit the trustee's production of Boeing Capital lease documents to Boeing Capital competitors.
