Izaiah Jones, 3, tried on a vintage U.S. Navy diving helmet with help from his mom during yesterday's Military Appreciation Family Day at the Bishop Museum. Visitors enjoyed the grand opening of "What in the World Is It?" -- a giant outdoor maze featuring interactive mystery stations.

Members of the Israeli folk dance troupe Hora! performed yesterday on the grounds of the municipal building near Honolulu Hale during a celebration marking the 56th anniversary of Israel's independence.
KIMONOS FOR THE KEIKI
Erin Kobayashi, 4, and her sister Amanda, 3, dressed up in traditional Japanese kimonos yesterday at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii's "Kodomo no Hi: Keiki Fun Fest." Amanda was helped by Yasumi Gojo and her mother, Reiko Kobayashi.
Betty Iwai got a big hug from her son, 7-year-old Brandon, after he got dressed up. The children then got their pictures taken, with proceeds raised going to benefit the center.
