Local collectors who have graduated from eBay might be interested in a couple of historic Hawaii-related autographs to will be auctioned Thursday at Swann Galleries in Manhattan. "Hawaii" highlights include:
>> King Kalakaua's signature on a small card. (Estimate: $100 to $150)
>> President Harry S. Truman's mimeographed copy of the Potsdam Proclamation, signed, with Churchill and Chiang Kai-shek's names added in Truman's hand. The proclamation called for Japan's surrender in World War II. (Estimate: $4,000 to $6,000)
>> Charles Lindbergh's photograph, signed and inscribed to E.D. Nagle. (Estimate: $1,000 to $1,500)
Other items to be auctioned include ship's papers signed by George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
