The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.



Priced up


City Bank's parent, which agreed yesterday to be acquired by rival Central Pacific Financial Corp., charged up nearly 17 percent for the week to lead the way in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. CB Bancshares Inc.'s stock hit an all-time high of $85.40 as it neared the merger price of $91.83.

Central Pacific's stock ended the week down 6.9 percent to $25.15.

ML Macadamia Orchards LP had the worst performance as it dropped 7.1 percent to $4.35.
