GIRLS' NIGHT OUT AT THE WAVE: Marti Kerton, left, and Claudette Bond, shared a private joke while Laura Bach and Kathy Mawae enjoyed the music of RPM at the Wave Waikiki on Saturday. RPM made a good impression with a tight set of mainstream rock in the midnight hour and, based on their performance, should consider being the next local rock band to record an album. But, back to the ladies, the four friends' night out at the Wave was Bach's last weekend to party as a single woman. She ties the knot with veteran rock guitarist Peter Bond tomorrow. Bond is remembered by local music historians as a member of Hat Makes The Man, Oriental Love Ring, and Spiny Norman -- and for his long-term relationships with Kerton and Claudette Bond. Mawae, who owns Lingerie Heaven, the store at the front of the Wave, also has a guitar-playing boyfriend in her past, who wasn't Peter Bond.

FOR THE LOVE OF VANA: Mike Iovino and Lani Jennings celebrated the third birthday of their dog, Vana, with a party at his Haiku Plantations home last Wednesday. They're not linked romatically but share custody. Vana spends part of each week with Jennings' family nearby.

"Noises Off" actors David Schaeffer, left, Ghislaine Sopher-Phillips, and Brent Yoshikami wore matching leis when they talked with well wishers after the opening-night show. Sopher-Phillips came out in costume and wearing the full stage make-up that "ages her" into the character of Mrs. Clackett, the frumpy houskeeper in the English sex farce.
