Campbell Park property sold

A Chicago-based real estate investment firm has purchased 35 acres of industrial property in the Campbell Industrial Park for $26.8 million, according to a news release issued by the seller, Black Development Corp.

Walton Street Capital will acquire 238,000 square feet of warehouse buildings, which are fully occupied, according to the release.

Calls to the two firms were not returned.

Walton Street Capital is a private real estate investment firm with equity commitments of $1.8 billion, the release said.

Business plan finalists named

Finalists in the 2004 University of Hawaii Business Plan Competition were named Thursday at the College of Business Administration.

Agri-Wastewater Solution manufactures water pollution control technology; Biotransit provides a Web-based approach to the transfer of biological materials; Hontech offers technical solutions using open-source software and commodity hardware; PanaViz immersive technology offers virtual tours and object imaging on the Internet for high- and low-bandwidth users; and Pipeline Communications develops secure wireless networks using self-steering antenna arrays.

The finalists, from among 90 entrants vying for $70,000 in cash and prizes, will present their business plans in the final round of competition from 6 to 9 p.m. April 27 in the School of Architecture auditorium.
