$50,000 model contract
on first gig
CIA Models' owner Kim Medeiros entered only one girl, 14-year-old Emily Peck, in the WorldAsia Xentopia model search last weekend. The winner was to get a $50,000 contract with New York Model Management. Kim said she entered Emily, who stands 5-feet-10, so she would get some experience and to see how she would react to that kind of pressure and competition. Out of about 100 applicants, the group was trimmed to 30 and Emily made the cut. "When I arrived Sunday to watch the show I went backstage, gave her a hug and told her to do her best," Kim said. "She ended up winning!" It was the first time Emily had been on a runway. Talk about beginner's luck. Emily has a twin brother, Forest. They attend Waldorf School.
