The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Cyanotech Corp. shares led the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index this week with a gain of 16.2 percent. In February, the Kona-based company, which makes human nutritional and animal feed products from microalgae, reported its first quarterly profit in 6 1/2 years.
Shares of City Bank parent CB Bancshares Inc. saw the second largest advance, rising 8.9 percent for the week. The bank stock is up 2.9 percent since March 15, when rival Central Pacific Financial Corp. sweetened its takeover bid.
The latest offer is valued at about $87 a share.
