Benjamin Parker Elementary School Principal Wade Araki gave a shaka sign yesterday as he sat atop the school's roof in the blazing sun from the beginning of the school day to the lunch period, as the students watched. The students were challenged to read 5,000 books, and if they did so, he would sit on the roof. The students read 7,250 books -- and still counting -- since the start of school on Aug. 31.
