Volunteers tipped thousands of rubber duckies yesterday into the Ala Wai Canal at the McCully bridge for the 17th Annual Great Hawaiian Rubber Duck Race, which raises funds for the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii. Sponsors adopted rubber duckies for $5 apiece with chances to win prizes ranging from $10,000 to a trip to Las Vegas.

Alaina Haddock, from Vancouver, Canada, joined the Pua Ali'i 'Ilima halau yesterday for a performance during the Ho'ike'ike 2004 celebration at Kapiolani Park.
