A fugitive from court may be on the run disguised as a Jamba Juice employee, according to Honolulu police.
Daniel Baldwin III, 21, also known as Alex Allen and Daniel Bald, was at an arraignment and plea hearing at District Court on Alakea Street on Monday when he became angry, swore and ran out of the courtroom with two bailiffs in pursuit, police said.
Police said Baldwin is believed to have run into a nearby Jamba Juice store, where he told the staff there that he was hiding from police, stole a T-shirt, and was last seen running in the Koko Head direction on South King Street.
Police said Baldwin was in court for a misdemeanor assault case in Waikiki last weekend, during which he allegedly got angry at another man who could not move out of his way fast enough because he was partially paralyzed from a stroke.
Baldwin attempted to hit the man but was prevented from doing so by bystanders, according to police.
Besides the pending assault case, Baldwin also has convictions for harassment and littering. He also has a $3,000 contempt of court warrant which was issued at the time of his arrest. Police and deputy sheriffs had checked with all of Baldwin's known addresses without success.
Baldwin is described as 5 foot 5, about 130 pounds, of small build, with brown hair, brown eyes and an unshaven appearance.
He was last seen with a purple Jamba Juice T-shirt and blue jeans.
