Hawaiian Holdings up
The stock of Hawaiian Airlines' parent rose during the final three days of this week to finish with an 8.4 percent gain and outpace 10 other companies in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. Hawaiian Holdings Inc.'s shares are now up 20.7 percent this year -- third best in the index -- despite the airline having been in Chapter 11 reorganization for the past 12 months.
Central Pacific Financial Corp., which sweetened its bid for CB Bancshares Inc. to $400 million, or $87.26 a share, gained 3.1 percent to $27.91 while City Bank's parent fell 1.7 percent to $67.42 in apparent skepticism that the offer would be accepted.
