>> Akal Security has donated $3,000 to the Hawaii Foodbank's annual food drive, on behalf of companies that operate at Honolulu Airport.
>> Parents and Children Together has received $20,000 from the Harold K.L. Castle Foundation through the Aloha United Way. The funds will be shared equally among PACT's Early Head Start program at Ko'olauloa, Ohia Spouse Abuse Shelter, the Kaneohe Community Family Center, and its Respite Care Program at St. Matthew's Church in Waimanalo.
PACT also received $28,000 in grants to support its community Teen Program at Kuhio Park Terrace, including $10,000 from the Barbara Cox Anthony Foundation; $10,000 from the Schuler Family Foundation; $5,000 from Garner Anthony; $2,000 from the James and Sally Zukerkorn Foundation; and $1,000 from the Castiglione A. Casauria Foundation.
>> The U.S. Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency has awarded a $1.25 million grant to the Waipahu Community Association to build a business incubator and job training center.
The MBDA also awarded a renewal grant totaling $245,000 for 2004 to the Minority Business Development Center in Honolulu.
>> The Moiliili Community Center has received $5,000 from the Group 70 Foundation Fund; $3,521 from the State Foundation on Culture & the Arts; $2,000 from Malama o Manoa; $2,250 from the Hawaii Council for the Humanities; $2,000 from Central Pacific Bank; and $2,500 from First Hawaiian Foundation. These funds will be used for the Moiliili History Project.
The Hawaii Charity Walk donated $3,500 for the center's Children and Families program; Beta Beta Gamma Foundation donated $500 for the center's senior program; Pearl Harbor Performing Arts Association donated $1,000, also for the senior program; and Foodland's "Give Aloha" campaign donated $733.

$3,600 in anthuriums stolen from Puna farm
Police said about 1,200 anthuriums were stolen Tuesday from Floral Resources Hawaii Inc., a farm in Puna.
The flowers were valued at $3,600. Police warn buyers to be aware that unfamiliar anthurium sellers might be selling the stolen flowers.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call Officer Michael DeCoito of the Puna Patrol at 966-5835 or the police nonemergency number at 935-3311. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call CrimeStoppers at 961-8300 (Hilo) or 329-8181 (Kona).

Police arrest husband in scratching incident
Police arrested a 23-year-old Wahiawa man Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly scratched his wife's face and chest with a sharp object in Village Park.
Police said the suspect approached his wife at about 3:45 p.m. near Kaaholo and Kupuka streets, grabbed her by the hair and shoved her. He then used a sharp object to scratch her face and chest, police said. Police later found the suspect and arrested him for suspicion of second-degree assault.

Camera catches man using stolen ATM card
Police are looking for a man caught on surveillance camera videotape trying to use the automated teller machine at the downtown branch of Central Pacific Bank on March 8.
Police said the suspect was seen removing the surveillance camera from the ATM at 76 N. King St. at about 10:15 p.m. after his transaction attempt failed. Police said the bank card's owner reported the card stolen.
The man is described as in his mid-20s, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, about 175 pounds, with a medium build, light brown to blond hair, a fair complexion and a beard and mustache.
