CONGRATULATIONS, KAWAI!: Kawai Cockett, center, was the guest of honor when the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts held a private reception for this year's recipients of the HARALifetime Achievement Award at the Outrigger Waikiki last Thursday. Eddie Kamae, second from left, received the award in 1992, Don McDiarmid Jr. in 1998 and Genoa Keawe in 1980. Harry B. Soria Jr., will be due one in a few more years for his work as a record producer and broadcaster.

VISITING "BELLE": Peter Bond, right, congratulated playwright Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl, center, and cast members Wil T.K. Kahele,Terri Seeborg and Laura Bach at the opening night party for Kumu Kahua's production of "Fanny and Belle" last Thursday. Bach, who stars as Belle, and Bond, remembered for his work with Hat Makes The Man and Oriental Love Ring, told me they're making wedding plans.

TIME TO CELEBRATE: Tricia Marciel, right, talked with Peter Gellatly, left, Dancetta Feary and Stewart Macpherson at the closing night cast party for Army Community Theatre's production of "Kiss Me, Kate" on Friday. Marciel's performance as Lois Lane was one of the highlights of the show. Macpherson is opening "Rock Legends" in the Blaisdell Concert Hall for a three-nighter April 23.
