At Hawaii Theatre

» April 4: "A Celebration of Excellence -- The Legacy Continues," is a benefit concert featuring The Hawai'i Youth Symphony I, and marking Louis Vuitton's 150 years of international excellence. Special guest artists include Japanese concert pianist Lisa Nakamichi, the Hawai'i State Ballet dancers, Gen. Fred C. Weyand, Ret., narrating Copland's Lincoln Portrait, and drummer Sango, who will premiere composer Neil McKay's festive new work for congas, bongos, and Afro-Caribbean percussion with the full 94-piece orchestra. It's not a fashion show, but will provide occasion to ogle some glam togs; 4 to 6 p.m., at 1130 Bethel St. Tickets are $20, $15, and $10 for students with ID and seniors (includes $2 theatre restoration fee). At Kahala Mall

» Friday: "All About Prom" begins at 4:30 p.m. at CenterStage. There'll be a prom fashion show featuring Calista by Cotton Cargo, heart-shaped candies from Reflections of the Heart, and hair and makeup ideas from Marsha Nadalin Salon & Spa, plus a magic show and dance exhibition by Hyper Squad Dance Company. Free.

» March 27: "Nouveau: Everything Spring" brings the outdoors indoors in a celebration of flowers, gardens, flowers and fashion, with landscape displays and gardening classes and demonstrations continuing through April 10. The free event opens with a "Tres Chic Garden Party" fashion show in a garden setting adjacent to Center Court, from 2 to 3 p.m. March 27. Wear your spring chapeau for a chance to win prizes. The first hundred shoppers will receive preferred seating and gift bags.

For more visual excitement, the University of Hawaii Apparel Product Design and Merchandising Program will move in to present "Les Fleurs Couture," a fresh floral design competition using mannequin forms. Watching the construction is half the fun, and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 3. Entries will be judged between 2 and 3 p.m., and the mannequins will continue to be displayed April 4. Free.

At Macy's

» Saturday: Prom Fashion Show in partnership with Seventeen magazine, takes place at 1 p.m. at THISIT Ala Moana, level two.

» Sunday: "Express Yourself" fashion show with Sassy magazine, 1 p.m. at THISIT Pearlridge, level one.

» March 25 to 30: Consultants will be providing sun-safety tips from The Skin Cancer Foundation at the Shiseido counter, where customers will also be able to receive a Shiseido suncare sample (limited supply).

» April 8: Community Shopping Day at Ala Moana and Kaahumanu. A shopping extravaganza dedicated to raising funds for local nonproft organizations. By purchasing a Macy's Community Shopping Day ticket, customers will enjoy exclusive savings storewide, events, samplings and a chance to win a $500 Macy's shopping spree, while contributing to 32 charitable organizations. All day.

Events at Ala Moana include an informal Anne Namba fashion show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; swimsuit fittings from 1 to 3 p.m. (RSVP to 945-6437); and opportunities to meet with representatives from Tori Richard, Sidan, Kauaina and Lauren M.

On Maui, there will be a show of fashion from Island Moments by Emme, featuring Emme Tomimbang and her celebrity friends, at 1 p.m. Also, meet Tori Richard representative Kathryn Albu from 3 to 5 p.m.

At Neiman Marcus, Ala Moana Center
» Thursday and Friday: "Hip Event." Special events highlight the hottest men's and women's spring sportswear, accessories, cosmetics and more. Contemporary Sportswear, Level One.

» Thursday to Saturday: "Petite Event." Spring collections from Lafayette, Anne Klein, Dana Buckman, Ellen Tracy and Eileen Fisher will be presented with informal modeling, and on Saturday, a 1 to 3 p.m. pupu party. Sport Shop, Level Two.

» Friday and Saturday: "Eskander Event." Season delights suitable for chic island lifestyles shown in Fine Apparel, Level Two.

» Friday and Saturday: Roger Dubois, a favorite of fashionable soccer star David Beckham, will have a trunk show of limited series watches in Precious Jewelry, Level One.

» Saturday: "Denim Days" features a new collection of missy jeans by Christopher Blue, in Sports Shop, Level Two.

» Sunday through March 27: "Zegna Week" features the latest in men's sportswear, fresh from Italy. You do want to look like Adrian Brody, don't you? In Men's Sportswear and Clothing, Level Three.

» March 24 and 25: "Versace Event." The new spring color collection of cosmetics debuts in Cosmetics, Level One.

» March 25 to 27: "Accessories Event" focuses on the must-haves of the season, with selections that run feminine, sensual or sporty. In Shoe Salon, Handbags and Jewelry, Level One.

» March 26 and 27: Robin Rotenier trunk show will feature a spring collection of silver, gold and semi-precious gems, in Designer Jewelry, Level One.

» March 28 to April 3: "Intimate Apparel Week" offers a glimpse of undergarments that ensure a flawless look for spring's flimsiest styles, with bra-fitting demonstrations by the Wacoal team on April 1, Chantelle on April 2 and 3. In Intimate Apparel, Level Two.

At Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center

» Saturday: A Flower Power Fashion Show featuring the latest from center tenants Allure, B. Kilban Cats, C.C. Accessories, Coco's Clothing, Crazy Shirts, Harley Davidson Motorclothes & Collectibles, Island Casual, Island Snow, Le Sportsac and Pacific Island Collection, will be part of RHSC's Springtime Festival. The fashion show runs from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday only. The music and floral fest itself runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Call 922-2299.

At Sephora, Ala Moana Center

» Friday and Saturday: Ejay Maldonado of Body & Soul, demonstrates sheer looks for spring from 1 to 6 p.m.

» March 27: Laurie Hovis of BeneFit Cosmetics introduces the Shangri-la collection of face colors and lipsticks, noon to 4 p.m.

» April 9 and 10: The Christian Dior 2004 Spring Collection of colors debuts, noon to 6 p.m.

At Sheraton Waikiki Hotel

» May 2: The Japanese Women's Society 29th Annual Fashion Show, themed "Golden Splendor" in honor of the society's 50th anniversary, will feature fashions by local designer Mamo Howell and international fashion expert Tadashi. There will be boutique sales from 9 a.m., with the luncheon beginning at noon, followed by the show. Tickets are $50 per person and $500 for a table of 10.
