3 barred from
alleged Maui drug home

LAHAINA >> Three Maui residents have been ordered to stay away from their alleged "drug house" at the state public housing project at David Malo Circle in Lahaina.

Kirk Ilikea Padua, Patrick Keaha Hall and his wife, Marlyn Bertha Hall, were named in a nuisance-abatement action in Maui Circuit Court, state Attorney General Mark Bennett said Monday.

The civil lawsuit is the first action on Maui taken by the state Attorney General's nuisance-abatement unit that was established last year.

Two nuisance-abatement actions involving private residences have taken place on Oahu -- on Stanley Street in Kalihi and on Kaliponi Street in Wahiawa.

The Maui complaint alleges drugs have been distributed from the residence at 741-C Mill St. in Lahaina since 2001 and seeks to prohibit the Halls and Padua from living there.

State Deputy Attorney General Mark Miyahira said that while no criminal charges have been filed against Padua, grand jury indictments have been returned against the Halls.

Miyahira said Patrick Hall has been indicted on several charges, including first-degree attempted promotion of cocaine and first-degree attempted promotion of crystal methamphetamine.

He said Marlyn Hall has been indicted on charges including two counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug involving crystal methamphe- tamine.

The Halls were required to vacate the house on March 5, pending a hearing Friday in Maui Circuit Court. Miyahira said Padua apparently no longer lived at the housing unit.
