Japanese archers in traditional feudal costumes re-enacted an ancient pre-battle prayer ceremony yesterday at the Hawai'i Convention Center. The group from the Iimori Shrine on Kyushu performed the ritual, an appeal to the gods for victory, as part of the 10th annual Honolulu Festival. The festival celebrating Japanese lore ended yesterday with a parade down Kalakaua Avenue.

At the petting zoo attraction during Aina Haina Elementary School Family Fun Day, Kaimi Fernandez, 9, relaxed yesterday with the miniature zebu known as "Pearl." The fair featured rides, food, crafts and live entertainment.
