Chaminade routs Hawaii Pacific

Kashif Reyes scored a game-high 32 points, leading Chaminade to a 101-77 win over Hawaii Pacific last night in Pacific West Conference basketball at Blaisdell Center.

Aaron Abrams scored 23 points and Dante Sykes 20 for the Sea Warriors (9-16, 6-8 PacWest). Sam Hennings had a game-high 13 rebounds for the Silverswords (10-14, 7-7).

BYUH to add golf teams for 2004-05

Brigham Young-Hawaii will add men's and women's golf to its athletic program beginning next season, Seasiders athletic director Ken Wagner announced yesterday.

The Seasiders will play their home matches at Turtle Bay.

The new total of 10 varsity sports will meet the NCAA's minimum requirement. BYUH expects to name a golf coach in the near future.

Seasiders No. 2 in final poll: With only four days until the NCAA Tournament pairings are announced, BYU-Hawaii and Hawaii-Hilo remained at No. 2 and No. 9 respectively in the NCAA West Region poll released yesterday.

The top eight teams in Sunday's final poll will advance to the NCAA Tournament. The West Region tournament will most likely be held at Cal State San Bernardino for the second time in three years. The Coyotes are No. 1 in the poll

Hawaii's Odelius cracks Spartan Invite top 10

SALINAS, Calif. >> Hawaii's Sara Odelius took another step toward an outstanding freshman season yesterday, finishing in a tie for eighth at San Jose State's Spartan Invitational golf tournament.

It was the second top-10 finish for the Sweden native, and helped the Rainbow Wahine finish eighth in the team standings in a 17-team field.

Freshman Dale Gammie shot even par for the final day to lead the Wahine. Odelius was 4 over on the tournament.
