The family will play tourists

comedy

The Osbournes, America's first family of dysfunction, arrive on Oahu tomorrow for eight days of filming.

The family -- Ozzy, Sharon and either son Jack or daughter Kelly -- will be playing tourists in Hawaii for their popular MTV series in an episode called "The Osbournes 3."

The reality-based comedy "The Osbournes," now in its third season, follows the lives of Ozzy and his family with no script and real situations. The Hawaii show's destinations will be selected by the family, mostly after their arrival.

"The Osbournes" is MTV's second-highest-rated series behind "The Real World."

Filming will begin with the trio's Honolulu Airport arrival and continue through March 12, when they return to Los Angeles.

MTV is bringing two production teams of seven to 10 people each.

Ozzy is the former lead singer of Black Sabbath. Mom Sharon, daughter of Jet Records founder Don Arden, survived colon and lymph cancer during the show's run. Son Jack went through drug rehabilitation, and daughter Kelly was dropped by her dad's record label, prompting him to leave as well, after her debut record flopped.

The family members have been publicly blasted for their profanity and appearing on the surface to be a dysfunctional family, although others have lauded them for their tight bond, support and affection for one another.

About 20 new 30-minute episodes are being produced to air this year.

Ozzy, 55, suffered a near-fatal accident Dec. 8 when he broke his left collarbone, eight ribs and one vertebra after losing control of an all-terrain vehicle he uses on his country estate in Buckinghamshire, England. The accident halted filming of the MTV reality series for five weeks.
