Radford won its second straight Oahu Interscholastic Association cheerleading championship last night at its home gym.
The Rams, who tied for the top spot with Moanalua last year, scored 290 points to get past second-place Aiea (270) and third-place Mililani (265).
The next five teams --Moanalua, Kapolei, Leilehua, Kaiser and Pearl City -- also qualified for the March 13 state tournament at the Stan Sheriff Center.
"It's just another goal, another step in our overall mission," Radford coach Bo Frank said. "Our theme this year is 'One team, one mission.' "
The Rams' overall goal is to win their second straight AmeriCheer national championship, which is at Orlando, Fla., on March 22.
Radford's championship cheerleaders are Tamara Allen, Brittiany Broadwater, David Carter, Brittany Cass, Lasha Harris, Brittany Hamocon, Leon Knight, Lawrence Lucius, Charlie Okada, Keisha Pamaylaon, Kristina Salisbury and Monika Tacoronte.
"Our tumbling was very strong tonight," Frank said. "We like to do it at the beginning of the routine, get everybody on their feet so they stay interested throughout."
