3 teachers in running
for national honor
Sacred Hearts Academy teachers Timothy Cantley and Jennifer Porter and Iolani School math teacher Michael Park have been named state finalists for the 2003 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
They are among 233 nationwide finalists for the honor. The presidential award winners will be announced next month, and each will receive $10,000.
Cantley teaches math and Porter teaches science. Park has helped coach Iolani's teams to 11 math league championships.
