Feel the 'Chi'
Building on the success of "Shaolin Warriors," IMG Artists and China Performing Arts Agency are collaborating with Tim Bostock Productions to bring the theatrical spectacular "Chi -- A New Era in Acrobatics" to the Blaisdell Concert Hall March 11-14.
"Chi" will bring a breathtaking fusion of acrobatics and martial arts from Shanghai to American audiences in the troupe's first American tour, which will finish in Hawaii. The 40-member company combines intense strength and impeccable balance with spirituality. The acrobats, aerial gymnasts, dancers, tumblers, martial artists and jugglers use their own "chi" to focus their bodies and minds to work in perfect harmony. The result is magic.
Critics are already raving that the grand stage design and spectacular lighting lend a distinct influence of Cirque du Soleil in their work, which sets them apart from other Chinese acrobatic companies.
Tickets are available at $18 to $48, with $10 discounts for students, seniors and military. American Express cardholders will receive $5 off the adult ticket prices. Tickets are available at the Blaisdell Box Office and Times Supermarkets, or charge at Ticketmaster by calling 877-750-4400 or going online at www.ticketmaster.com.
