An opening reception was held for the exhibit "The Kona Coffee Story: Along the Hawaii Belt Road" at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii on Saturday. The exhibit tells the story of Kona's immigrant Japanese coffee pioneers and their Hawaii-born children. Linda Maruyama Kunimitsu, center, hugged her Konawaena class of 1961 classmate, Lorna Ogawa, on Saturday. Earlier, she saw Karen Shimabukuro, right, another classmate. Linda was dressed in clothes reminiscent of those worn during the late 1800s to early 1900s on the Kona coffee farms. She is in a play "Kona Coffee Days" that was based on oral histories of coffee farmers. Admission is free; the exhibit runs through April 24.
