The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Bumpy Hawaiian
Hawaiian Airlines' parent, continuing its rocky ride, soared 21.8 percent this holiday-shortened week after plunging 32 percent last week to lead 10 other stocks in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. Hawaiian Holdings Inc., despite its lone operating subsidiary being in Chapter 11 reorganization, is up 21.4 percent in 2004 after closing yesterday at $3.63.
Maui Land & Pineapple Co. also posted a strong performance as it gained 10.5 percent to $38.50, just off its all-time closing high of $39.38 that it hit on Thursday.
Cyanotech Corp. brought up the rear as it fell 11.1 percent to $1.53.
