Sally Ride to give keynote speech

Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, will give the keynote address at the Junior League of Honolulu's fourth annual Herstory conference in April.

Army Brig. Gen. Coral Wong Pietsch and filmmaker Edgy Lee also will speak during the conference, which includes sessions addressing career, health, parenting, cooking and home design.

The event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 30 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Tapa Ballroom.

Conference costs are $95 for a full day; $80 for a half-day, including lunch; and $65 for lunch only. For more information, call 946-6466.

>> John Donaldson-Selby joins Hawaii Commercial Real Estate as an office building leasing and sales specialist. He will be responsible for negotiating leases for office building tenants and assisting buyers and sellers of investment properties. He was previously a partner in a commercial real estate firm in Capetown, South Africa.

>> The Ala Moana Hotel has appointed Gina Ornellas to catering sales manager and Anna Pascual to convention service manager. Ornellas will source new clients, maintain existing accounts and coordinate events. Pascual sees that all terms of group contacts are carried through and serves as a contact for clients.

>> Cari Urabe of Mililani has joined the Eagle Entertainment student staff at Eastern Washington University for 2003-04. She was selected as diversity and outreach coordinator.
