Honolulu fire officials and police are investigating a "suspicious" fire in the principal's office at Farrington High School last night.
At 7:16 p.m., 35 firefighters responded to a fire in the "A" administration building at 1564 N. King St. The fire was extinguished at 7:41 p.m.
Honolulu Fire Capt. Emmit Kane said the blaze was contained to the principal's office and damaged paperwork, books and a bookshelf. A television and fan also melted from the heat.
Kane said there was no sign of a break-in, but there were gas cans near one of two doors that lead to the office.
"It is suspicious," Kane said.
Damage was estimated at $15,000 to the building and $5,000 to its contents.
