You're invited to take 'Designers' Challenge'
HGTV's No. 1 show, "Designers' Challenge," is looking for a Honolulu homeowner willing to turn a room over to local designers to transform.
The series is entering its fifth season with the mandate to hit the road, so producers are looking for a family room or bedroom project (no kitchens or bathrooms) for April taping.
The clients will have three local designers make a formal presentation on how they would design the space, with a minimum budget of $25,000.
Homeowners will pick their favorite design, and the TV crew will return when the job is complete to tape the results.
For information, e-mail Chara Campenella at Chara_Campanella@pietown.tv to describe your project -- and cost estimate, if available.
Dentists show heart
For the third year, Dr. Wilfred Miyasaki's "Dentists With a Heart" program is providing needy individuals with free basic dental care.
He and Dr. Chad Kawashima will be providing free services on a first-come, first-serve basis today at A Downtown Dental Group, 1139 Bethel St. (adjacent to the Hawaii Theatre).
Patients must be at least 12 years old, and accompanied by a parent or guardian if under 18.
Services include cleaning, X-rays, fillings, extractions, diagnoses, consultations and pain control.
"All effort will be made to see everyone, or as many people as possible requiring treatment," Miyasaki said.
No phone appointments are being taken, but for more information, call 533-0000, or visit www.dentisthonolulu.com.
