Cashmere Jewish Film
Festival opens Friday
A film nominated for a 2004 Academy Award for best documentary is one of several movies to be featured in the second Kirk Cashmere Jewish Film Festival, opening Friday at Restaurant Row Theaters.
Temple Emanu-El sponsors the annual event named for Cashmere, an attorney involved in civil rights cases who died in 2002.
Films from six countries were chosen to show the breadth of the Jewish experience worldwide.
Festival Flash Passes are being sold in advance at the temple -- five tickets for $25, 10 for $45 and 20 for $80. Tickets will be sold at the door for $6 except for "My Architect" tickets at $5.25 for matinees and $7.75 for evening shows.
The American Institute of Architects will host a panel discussion on the Oscar entry about renowned Philadelphia architect Louis Kahn after the 7 p.m. Friday showing of the story told by his son. The film will be shown several times throughout the festival, which continues through Feb. 19.
