Asashoryu still in lead


TOKYO >> Yokozuna Asashoryu won his eighth match today, remaining the only undefeated sumotori at the New Year Grand Sumo Tournament.

Kakizoe, Kotomitsuki, Chiyotaikai and Tochiazuma all won to improve to 7-1 and remain tied for second place.

Buyuzan, Shimotori and Kaio are all tied at 6-2.
