Tattoos rule
‘Dragon Room’

SKIN IS IN tomorrow night at Meritage at Restaurant Row as 420 Funkshun and 12-2-12 Entertainment present the fourth installment of "The Dragon Room."

Every edition of "The Dragon Room" follows a different theme, and this month, the promoters have decided to put the focus on tattoos and the people who have them.

DJs Technique, B.I.T.E. and Reality will serve up a mix of hip-hop and R&B hits throughout the evening, with $3 Crown Royal and $3 domestic beers on special all night long. Those who show up will also have a chance to win passes to see "Barbershop 2," starring Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Eve and Queen Latifah.

Doors open at 10 p.m.; an $8 cover charge applies. Call 372-2700 for more information.

And for something completely different, there's also the eighth annual "ZineFest" tomorrow night, this time at Club Pauahi downtown. Besides meeting and exchanging handmade and photocopied zines of all topics and persuasions with others, the all-ages event will feature music by the 86 List (organizer Otto's popular punk band), teradactyl, plus three new bands in the Hit, Piss Poor Excuse and No Hope, No Pride. DJ Assamasta (the name inspired by Margaret Cho's mom's favorite gay porn mag) will keep the "assas" moving between sets. Five bucks gets you in, and the fest starts at 7 p.m.
