LEAVE IT to promoters Komo Low, Matty Boy Hazelgrove and Flash Hansen when it comes to throwing parties at venues most local residents don't visit on a regular basis.
This weekend marks the start of a new monthly event at the newly remodeled Hanohano Room in the Sheraton-Waikiki Hotel. According to its Web site, Hanohano means "glorious, distinctive or in an elevated position," and the restaurant doesn't disappoint with its breathtaking views from 30 stories above Waikiki.
Doors open at 9 p.m. on Sunday for "Twilight," with DJs Drift, KSM, Rayne and TimB mixing things up after a traditional Chinese lion dance. SPEAKING OF FREE, Bedroq Bar and Grill seems to be coming up as the hot spot on the weekend for live entertainment with no cover charge.

THIS WEEKEND also brings the 2004 edition of "ZineFest" to downtown's Club Pauahi, courtesy of Unity Crayons.
The night is a celebration of sorts for Oahu's independent publishers: Anyone and everyone is welcome to print up their thoughts, ideas, rants or whatever comes to mind, then come down to Club Pauahi and pass out the finished product to those in attendance.
All ages are welcome to this year's "ZineFest," which starts at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Hit, Piss Poor Excuse, No Hope No Pride and teradactyl have all agreed to take part in this one, and DJ Assamasta will be on hand as well to keep things moving between sets. AND ON SUNDAY, head over to Ward Warehouse for a shot to be on the next season of CBS's "Survivor."
Subway Restaurants and local CBS affiliate KGMB have teamed up to run the auditions, which consist of making a three-minute video that will be sent to the show's producers for further consideration. Those lucky enough to be chosen will have a shot at the $1 million grand prize when filming gets under way later this year.
Contestants will be allowed to line up starting at 7 a.m. at Subway Ward Warehouse; the auditions will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You must be 21 years of age to participate. Call 737-4676, ext. 7 ...
