The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Cyanotech leads
Cyanotech Corp., a producer of natural products made from microalgae, hit a 52-week closing high of $2.25 yesterday to lead the way in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. Cyanotech's stock, which posted a 20.5 percent gain this week, has now risen 703.6 percent since reaching an intraday low of 28 cents on Dec. 26, 2002.
Maui Land & Pineapple hit a 52-week-high of $35.98 yesterday to post a 3.4 percent gain for the week.
Hawaiian Holdings Inc., the parent of bankrupt Hawaiian Airlines, hit a 52-week high Dec. 30 at $3.18, but it fell 5.7 percent this week to place last in the weekly index.
