Morgan Beret Fine Lingerie at Kahala Mall carries her exclusive brand and there's no rule you have to throw them away after one wearing ...

FRIENDS of Jim & Cherye Pierce bought three copies of the Pierce photography show catalogue but the books never made it home. When they stopped for dinner, the books were stolen out of the trunk of their car. The Pierce collection remains on view trough Jan. 11 at the Honolulu Academy of Arts. ... The Airline Organizational Pilots Association has printed a story on "Extreme Crosswinds" that refers to Maui as the windiest airport in the nation, but also included Kalaupapa and Molokai. That should confirm the quality of our commercial and recreational pilots who fly into these airports on a daily basis ...

Return of Damien

HUNDREDS of Hawaii folks, particularly Molokai residents, are acquainted with one of the good guys in "Lord of the Rings -- Return of the King." He's Australian actor David Wenham, who played Father Damien in the 1999 film shot at Kalaupapa. Wenham lived at Kalaupapa during the filming and was popular with the extras. In "Rings" he plays Faramir. ...

BISHOP Museum is gearing up to celebrate "Remains of a Rainbow." Nothing to do with the UH Warrior football team. It's a photo exhibit that opens Jan. 17. National Geographic photogs turned their lenses on Hawaii's endangered species ...

INVESTIGATIVE reporter Ian Lind, who has a popular online blog about the media, sends along a missive: "Glad to hear that you're back and working. I got several paranoid messages worried about your absence. One inquiry came from New Zealand. You've got fans in lots of places." ...

Maui report

SITCOM writer and director Ken Levine has wrapped up yet another holiday vacation. In an e-mail letter as funny as some of the sitcoms he's done, Levine described this year's digs, the Grand Wailea and advises people to "Picture Hearst's Castle with water slides and a grotto bar ... Paris and Nicky Hilton were staying at our hotel ... The Four Seasons next door usually has the big Hollywood crowd. Maybe they didn't want Paris. After all she did make that infamous sex tape and worse, she has a show on Fox ...We spent a lot of time with Jeff Nelson and his family. Jeff is a pitcher with the New Yankees and were together in Seattle in the early 90's. He's a rarity. A multi-milllion ballplayer who actually spends time with his family. Four young daughters and no nannies, no baby sitters -- just him and his wife Collete. Spotted on Christmas Eve day, a woman wearing a T-shirt in a Hebrew Font: Kiss my Tuchas. Gee, why do they hate us..." Levine goes on for four info-filled and hilarious pages ...
