Doane College squeaks past Chaminade

Brian Jakubowski led Doane College (Crete, Neb.) to a 79-75 win over Chaminade yesterday at McCabe Gym. Jakubowski scored 21 points and was 5-for-8 from beyond the arc. The Tigers were balanced, with four other players scoring in double digits.

Nick Frey led the Silverswords with a double-double (25 points, 17 rebounds), while Kashif Reyes added 17 points. Chaminade led by as many as 15 points in the first half but shot 36.7 percent from the field in the second half.

Warrior volleyball team plays against alumni

The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team takes on a team of alumni tomorrow at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Among the former players expected at the 7 p.m. match are Jason Olive, Pono Ma'a, Aaron Wilton, Tony Ching and Sivan Leoni.

The event begins with a 5 p.m. match between two alumni teams. Tickets are $7 and are not part of the season-ticket package. There is no admission charge for UH students and children 18 and under.
