The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

Cyanotech hits high
Cyanotech Corp., a producer of natural products made from microalgae, hit a 52-week closing high of $1.75 Wednesday to lead the way in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. Cyanotech's stock has now risen 525 percent since reaching an intraday low of 28 cents Dec. 26, 2002.
Hawaiian Holdings Inc., the parent of bankrupt Hawaiian Airlines, posted the second-best performance with 4.5 percent gain for the week. the jump followed news that former-CEO John Adams would return $500,000 to the bankrupt company.
