Kodama named WAC men's golfer of the month

UH's Matt Kodama was named WAC men's golfer of the month for November after finishing ninth in the UH/Turtle Bay Intercollegiate, helping the Warriors win a share of the title.

Kodama, a senior from Las Vegas has finished in the top 10 in all five tournaments he's participated in this season, and is ranked sixth in par-3 scoring and eighth in Par-5 scoring. He also owns a team-best 70.7 stroke average, placing him third in the nation.

Waianae's Deever named to Rodeo All-Star team

Waianae's Chelsea Deever was named to the 2003-2004 Wrangler High School All-Star Rodeo team, the first-ever corporate-sponsored youth team, based on leadership qualities, academic eligibility, and athletic achievements.

Members of the team receive official competition apparel consisting of Wrangler Twenty X shirts embroidered with the team logo, and two pairs of competition jeans, as well as an official team certificate signed by rodeo greats Jim Shoulders and Ty Murray.

Japanese company to film movie during marathon

Gahna Production Studios wil be in Hawaii filming parts of the Honolulu Marathon this weekend to appear in a movie in Japan.

The scenes of Japanese pop star Eri Murakawa will appear in the movie "Road 88," and be released in 150 theaters in Japan in July.

The marathon begins Sunday at 5 a.m. and is the fourth largest marathon in the world.
