Sherwin and Casey Alop took their daughters to Kahala Mall to visit Santa and take a picture yesterday. Kyndra, 3, didn't like the visit, although her 5-year-old sister, Criselle, waited patiently on Santa's lap. Sherwin said Kyndra was fine last year.

More than 800 athletes competed in basketball, bowling and bocce yesterday in the Special Olympics Hawaii Holiday Classic. Athlete Sunyee K. Ching pleaded for a strike while bowling at Hickam Air Force Base. Ching has been bowling twice a week for 14 years. Rooting with her were Knights of Columbus volunteers Bob Ching and Bob Allen. The Classic ends today.
