Kihei, Maui, writers Jennifer Anderson and Eve Eschner-Hogan, are among those whose true stories have been accepted for publication in "Chicken Soup for the Ocean Lover's Soul."

The new book in the inspirational series celebrates the sea through the personal tales, plus photographs by ocean artist Wyland.

Anderson's story, "This Magic Moment," tells the story of a diver's exciting firsthand physical and emotional encounter with a 15-foot manta ray.

Eschner-Hogan's story, "Ebb and Flow," recounts an experience with a pod of dolphins, in which the line between animals and humans was blurred. Also accepted was her compassionate story, "Octopus's Garden," depicting a pivotal moment in her relationship with a sea captain.

The book is in stores now, at $12.95 for 400 pages with color inserts, along with other "Chicken Soup" titles such as "Chicken Soup for the Soul of Hawaii," for holiday gift-giving.
