Caroline Ward Oda, who helped boost enrollment at St. Andrew's Priory School and expand its programs, will retire as head of the school at the end of this academic year.
Enrollment has grown 13 percent and donations have tripled over the nearly three years she has led the girls school, according to an announcement by the board of trustees.
"Caroline has developed St. Andrew's Priory and positioned the school very strongly for future growth," said Russell Lau, director of the board of trustees.
The first woman to head the school, Oda took the position at her alma mater on an interim basis in 2001 and then stayed on at the behest of the trustees.
"We have accomplished a great deal, and I am very proud of the priory, its technology, arts, literature and science programs," Oda said.
Every student in grades six to 12 has a wireless laptop, and the school won a Verizon Foundation grant in March to equip mobile carts with laptops for use by elementary students.
Trustee Dew Anne Langcaon will chair the search committee for a new head of school.
